According to the report, the man was arrested while leaving the post office by officers of the police’s rapid-response squad DIAS, who arrived at the scene within minutes of receiving several calls from customers and employees at Piraeus’s main post office, who saw the shooting take place.
The man, witnesses said, headed straight for the victim’s desk, shot her from a close distance and left, leading investigators to believe that his motive was personal.
The unnamed woman, aged in her early 30s, died at the scene.
