The stock of gaming company OPAP dropped to an historic low on Monday on the Athens bourse, dragging with it most blue chips in another session of thin trade as doubts grow regarding the course of the country’s economy.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended the day at 544.56 points, declining by 1.01 percent from Friday’s closing figure of 550.13 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index gave up 0.82 percent to close at 202.81 points.
OPAP dropped 3.26 percent to 4.15 euros, but Viohalco and Motor Oil fared even worse, down 5.03 and 5 percent respectively. Titan cement outperformed, adding 2.07 percent.
In total, 38 stocks recorded gains, 70 posted losses and 23 remained unchanged.
Turnover amounted to 27.8 million euros, down from last Friday’s 59.6 million.
