Hot, dry conditions kept firemen on their toes Monday as blazes in Corinth and parts of Attica continued to smolder though no homes were at risk.

Another small blaze started in Megara, western Attica, and was being battled by firemen with two fire trucks Monday afternoon.

Weekend fires in Keratea and Palaia Fokaia destroyed several warehouses but caused no injuries. Five people were being questioned over the Keratea blaze, believed to have been started by a spark from a welding workshop, and another in Marathon, north of Athens
