One of the best comics of modern Greek theater, Thymios Karakatsanis, passed away on Saturday.
He had associated himself with the comedies of Aristophanes, with regular performances at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus. He had also featured in a number of Greek films, while also working as a theater director.
He succumbed to the illness he was suffering from over the last few years at the age of 72 years.
His funeral will take place on Monday at Paiania.
