Police probing Cyprus murder suspect's links to domestic terrorism

Two Greek men arrested over the weekend in connection with the murder of five men in a gangland-style execution at the popular Cyprus tourist resort of Ayia Napa last week faced a prosecutor in Athens on Monday.

The two men, aged 29 and 41, are being detained in Athens’s high-security Korydallos Prison until a judicial council rules on an appeal by Cypriot authorities for the pair to be extradited to the island.

Greek police sources said they were probing links between the 29-year-old and domestic terror groups while police sources in Cyprus reportedly said that the suspect killed the five victims in six seconds, firing 15 times with an automatic weapon.

According to sources, CCTV footage from the bars and streets of Ayia Napa captured evidence incriminating both men.
