The Apostoli charity, run by the Archbishopric of Athens, said Tuesday that it has chosen 260 large low-income families to sponsor until the end of the year.
The families, whose members number almost 2,500, will receive a monthly food parcel each.
Some of the families are surviving on annual incomes of less than 2,000 euros.
