Members of the military and the police force are organizing a rally at the Panathenaic Stadium in central Athens on Thursday to protest a decision that will see their pay being slashed as part of a series of cuts to so-called “special salaries” for certain categories of civil servants. The move follows a protest last Friday which saw military and police force staff rallying outside the Ministry of Finance before heading to Parliament.
Rallies are also being organized by judges and court employees who are also protesting salary cuts, with demonstrations being organized outside the Athens court complex this Wednesday and September 17, the latter immediately after courts reopen after the summer break.
