Judges, public prosecutors and court workers have gathered in a demonstration at Greeces Supreme Court to protest new pay cuts expected in a new government austerity package.
Organizers of Wednesday’s protest threatened to cut operating hours at the country’s backlogged courts if their salaries are slashed as part of the €11.5 billion ($14.4 billion) austerity measures through 2014.
Police, Fire Service and Coast Guard associations are planning a protest in central Athens with officers in uniform on Thursday. They are also against the looming pay cuts.
