The ex-wife of former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos has been released with no restrictions after being questioned as part of the judicial investigation into corruption allegations.
Gudrun Moldenhauer was questioned magistrate Gavriil Mallis over claims that she transferred money to a company in Italy that was set up by another defendant, businessman Giorgos Sachpatzidis, to launder bribes paid to Tsochatzopoulos.
The ex-minister’s cousin, Nikos Zigras, has claimed that Moldenhaeur received money from Tsochatzopoulos in order to grant him a divorce so he could marry Viki Stamati, who is currently in custody alongside the former politician.
Moldenhaeur denies the charges.
The former head of procurement at the Defense Ministry, Giannis Sbokos, is also due to appear before Mallis on Monday.
