A 45-year-old man on Thursday faced a prosecutor on murder charges on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos after he allegedly strangled his 40-year-old wife before burying her on the sandy banks of a local wetland.
According to police, the suspect admitted to killing his wife following a row sparked by suspicions she had been having an affair.

Police found the woman’s body buried on the site of a wetland in Gera Bay on the island’s southeastern coast.
