Justice Minister Haris Kastanidis on Wednesday reiterated that he is “open” to a proposal made by main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Antonis Samaras for backdated processing of “sources of wealth” statements, submitted by political figures who took office in the period following the restoration of democracy in the country (1974).
Responding to ND parliamentary spokesman Costas Tzavaras, the justice minister stated that he has no objections to the proposal, adding that he will consult with the minister of the interior because the measure falls under his authority.
Samaras to address ND's parliamentary group Thurs.
Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Antonis Samaras will address his party's parliamentary group on Thursday.
According to press reports, Samaras is expected to define the ND's ideological and political position in the current conjuncture.
