Officials believe that they will be able to root out some public sector workers who have forged documents, particularly language diplomas. If civil servants are found to have lied about their skills, they can be sacked following a disciplinary hearing.
The government agreed earlier in the year to fire 4,000 civil servants be the end of 2013 and 11,000 in 2014. It also aims to place 12,500 bureaucrats in a mobility scheme over the next few months.
