The finance ministry's press office on Sunday issued a statement denying that the ministry's special secretary for privatisations used, amongst others, the phrase "implementation risks" when referring to Greece, found in an article carried by the Dow Jones service.

According to the ministry, Giorgos Christodoulakis also flatly denied making the comment that was attributed as such: "the country tops the list of states likely to become insolvent".

Finally, Christodoulakis said there was only discussion with the news agency over a possible report and not an interview.
