Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will on Tuesday meet with Giannis Antetokounmpo to congratulate him after the 18-year-old small forward was selected as the 15th pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA draft last week.
Antetokounmpo, a Greek of Nigerian origin, plied his trade at Filathlitikos in Greece’s second-tier league until this season, but has now shot to fame as he is to wear the jersey with number 34 at the Bucks.
Antetokounpo, who officially gained full Greek citizenship in May, is also scheduled to meet with deputy Minister for Sports Yiannis Andrianos.
