On Wednesday, 36 ferries will leave Piraeus, Lavrio and Rafina for the islands.
Passengers can find out about departures by calling the 24-hour hotline 14944.
Traffic police are also on alert as a sharp increase in the number of vehicles leaving Athens is expected this week.
