Police on Crete on Wednesday diverted traffic between the port of Hania and Kissamo after a rock that fell onto a car from a hillside near the Topolia tunnel left a 34-year-old female motorist with critical injuries on Sunday.

Police on Crete on Wednesday diverted traffic between the port of Hania and Kissamo after a rock that fell onto a car from a hillside near the Topolia tunnel left a 34-year-old female motorist with critical injuries on Sunday.
The rock, weighing about 5 kilos, rolled down a mountain and hit the car’s sun roof.
The diversion is to stay in place until authorities finish installing a rock fence along the road.
