Autopsy on dead fox in northern Greece shows signs of rabies

An autopsy on a fox that was found dead on a road in Mavrovouni in Pella, northern Greece, found that the animal tested positive for rabies.

The fox had probably been hit by car when it was found dead by police who sent its body to a lab for veterinary testing.

The head of the veterinary service of Pella said on Tuesday that tests found the rabies virus, adding that other wild animals in the region are believed to be carriers of the virus.
