A prosecutor investigating claims of money laundering, embezzlement and breach of faith on the part of two private electricity providers, Hellas Power and Energa, has issued five new arrest warrants, according to reports on Tuesday.

The companies are accused of withholding as much as 270 million euros from the state. The money relates to emergency property tax installments that were levied via electricity bills and paid by customers to the two companies in question.

Six executives from the two companies are already in custody after being charged in connection to the case.
