A small square in central Athens is to be named after the late French classical scholar Jacqueline de Romilly on Monday.
The square is located in Thisseio. The inauguration will be attended by Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis, former French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing and ex-Culture Minister Jack Lang.
De Romilly, who died in December 2010 at the age of 97, has been decorated numerous times by Greece and received Greek citizenship in 1995. She is known for translating numerous ancient Greek works into French.
