Golden Dawn MP’s trial for attack on street sellers adjourned again

The trial of a lawmaker for far-right Golden Dawn and another 10 defendants in connection with an attack on migrant stall owners was adjourned for a second time on Tuesday.

Costas Barbarousis and and his fellow Golden Dawn members are accused of destroying several migrants' stalls at an open-air market in the Peloponnesian town of Mesolonghi in September last year. All 11 suspects are facing charges of usurping authority, damaging property and violent behavior.

Their trial was postponed from October 8 as three of the defendants did not have legal representation in court.

On Tuesday, the Mesolonghi court granted a second adjournment with a new date for the trial set on May 13 as three of the defendants' lawyers failed to turn up in court, claiming prior commitments, according to local media.
