Greek lawyer found guilty of defrauding shipowner of 27.3 mln euros
A lawyer was found guilty on Friday of defrauding shipowner Constantinos Angelopoulos of 27.3 million euros and was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

A lawyer was found guilty on Friday of defrauding shipowner Constantinos Angelopoulos of 27.3 million euros and was sentenced to 10 years in jail.
The Athens Criminal Appeals Court found that between 1998 and 2007 Nikolaos Gorgias had repeatedly lied to Angelopoulos by telling him that he was using the money he was given to cover the cost of court cases in Germany and to invest in real estate.
The sentence was suspended pending a decision by another appeals court as Gorgias has submitted medical documents which allegedly show he suffers from a serious health problem.
