Temperatures across Greece are expected to take a nosedive on Monday night, bringing a cold snap that will persist through Wednesday and early-morning frost on Tuesday to many parts of the country.

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service said that the day will start off nicely Monday with mostly sunny skies and some light clouds in eastern and southern parts.

Winds will be coming in from the north at moderate speeds of up to 5 Beaufort, though they will stronger in the Aegean at 7 Beaufort.

Temperatures will range on average from 10-14 degrees Celsius during the day but are expected to drop sharply overnight to around 4 Celsius and is some parts to below 0.
