The former New Democracy minister for public transport and culture allegedly replaced the license plates of his SUV with a false set in order to avoid paying road tax, according to initial media reports, which suggested that he was also driving without a license.
He is being questioned by traffic police at the Aghia Paraskevi precinct, north of Athens.
