New photographs of Golden Dawn members posing with guns and making Nazi salutes have emerged after authorities searched the computer of the head of the party’s Nikaia cell, Giorgos Patelis, who has been linked to the murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas in September.

Further details of the night Fyssas was stabbed to death by Golden Dawn member Giorgos Roupakias were also made public Wednesday as the recordings of conversations between the officers who were first called to the scene and the police dispatcher were added to the case file.

The recordings show that policemen who reported a group of about 20 Golden Dawn supporters chasing others in the streets of Keratsini were initially ordered to keep their distance until backup arrived and report what they saw in the meantime. Once it emerged someone had been stabbed, the officers at the scene were told to “detain anyone you come across until we can work out what happened.”

The conversations also reveal that there was a delay in an ambulance arriving to take a wounded Fyssas to the hospital. The first request for assistance was made at 12.05 a.m. but by 12.26 no ambulance had arrived and with Fyssas having lost consciousness, a decision was made to take him to the hospital in a taxi. Two minutes later, officers were informed that an ambulance would arrive in a few minutes.

The recordings are now part of the evidence that prosecutors will use to try to prove that Golden Dawn was a criminal organization. Six of its MPs are in custody awaiting trial for allegedly being part of a gang, while another three have been charged. A number of photos found on Patelis’s hard drive will also be added to the case file being put together by magistrates Ioanna Klapa and Maria Dimitropoulou.

The photos show Golden Dawn members brandishing what look like AK-47 and M4 assault rifles, as well as handguns. Police said they could not immediately comment on whether the weapons were genuine firearms or copies. Patelis, currently in custody, is shown holding what looks like a Kalashnikov rifle in one photo. The picture is thought to have been taken at a training camp organized by the party next to the Neda River in the Peloponnese. Another photo shows two of the far-right party’s supporters along with some children giving a Nazi salute.

Authorities have also passed on other electronic files recovered from the phones and computers of Golden Dawn MPs Nikos Michos and Ilias Panayiotaros.
