The bodies of three more undocumented migrants who drowned off Farmakonisi in the Dodecanese on January 19 were located by a special coast guard diving team late on Tuesday. The vessel carrying the migrants was also recovered by the team, reports said.
The bodies recovered belonged to a boy, aged 1 to 2, a 10-year-old boy and a woman, aged 30, the coast guard report noted.
Twelve people died in the incident, while 16 were rescued. Some survivors alleged that a Greek coast guard patrol vessel attempted to tow the migrants boat back to Turkish waters, causing it to sink. Greek authorities have denied this and a judicial investigation was underway.
