Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday signed a decree that will see the transfer of 2,670 former municipal police officers to new posts as part of the government's mobility scheme.

According to the ministry, 1,524 will be re-assigned to the Greek Police department, 575 will head to correctional facilities around the country, 141 will be posted at the General Secretariat for State Revenues, 382 will be transferred to immigration service departments, while another 30 will incorporate services fighting illicit trade.

The ministry noted that the final appointments will be made following the publication of a list issued by the Supreme Council for Personnel Selection (ASEP).
