Two water bombing airplanes helped in the effort to put out the blaze, which got to within a few hundred meters of a local hospital and homes.
The fire has scorched one side of Peranthi hill but dozens of firefighters who took part in the effort to extinguish the blaze were able to prevent it reaching pine trees.
