The employees' strike at the Hellenic Petroleum company (ELPE) will be suspended as of Wednesday, following a decision taken by their Federation on Tuesday in light of two meetings with the company's administration that have been scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

Their 10-day strike began on the previous Sunday and will end on Wednesday morning. A new seven-day strike had been decided that is being suspended. "We hope our decision for a suspension will prove to be contributing to defusion," the Federation of Employees in Petroleum products, Refineries and the Chemical Industry stressed in an announcement on Tuesday evening.
