“I express my deep and honest condolences to the families of the victims,” said Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos in a statement. “Our support will be immediate.”

He added that the Greek Consulate in Mariupol has been instructed to “extend every possible support” to the victims’ families. Greece only reopened its consulate in Mariupol this week. It was moved to Dnepropetrovsk in August due to fighting in the area between Ukrainian forces and Russian separatists.
