The former head of the Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE), Yiannis Diotis, is to be tried for breach of faith in connection with the so-called Lagarde list of Greeks with Swiss bank accounts, according to a ruling by the Council of Athens Appeals Court Judges issued Thursday.

Diotis, who was best known for helping disband the November 17 terrorist group before taking the helm of SDOE in 2011, will not face the additional charge of tampering with an official document, unlike former Finance Minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou, who is to face a special court on February 25 for his handling of the list.

Diotis’s predecessor, Yiannis Kapeleris, was cleared of any charges over the list, which was given to Papaconstantinou by French authorities in 2010.
