Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis on Friday sent a new letter to the Eurogroup essentially fleshing out the six reform proposals that Greece is expected to present at Monday’s meeting of eurozone finance ministers, sources in Brussels indicated.

According to sources, an EU official in Brussels said that the Greek letter was received after this week’s technical-level Euro Working Group session and therefore has not been evaluated by the creditor institutions and cannot form the basis of a decision at Monday’s Eurogroup. The same official indicated that there was a significant gap between Greece and its creditors, noting that greater communication was needed.

Asked whether a portion of a pending loan tranche to Greece could be disbursed, he said this would depend on Athens fulfilling certain commitments to creditors.

There was no immediate confirmation in Athens that a new letter had been sent.
