Financial crimes squad officers remanded in custody for takes bribes

One of the three finance ministry financial crimes squad SDOE employees arrested on Tuesday for receiving bribes has admitted the charges filed against him, it was announced on Friday. The three will remand in custody facing felony charges for taking bribes.
The defendants were arrested on May 17 and initially maintained that they were themselves victims of the businessman who reported them to the police, alleging that he wanted to take advantage of the taxation immunity offered by law to those who bring corrupt civil servants to justice.
