The extension of operation and the upgrading of the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA) based in Iraklio on the island of Crete were among the issues of Greek interest discussed in the EU Telecoms Council held in Brussels, it was announced on Friday. Deputy Infrastructure, Transport & Networks Minister Spyros Vougias outlined Greece’s position in favour of ENISA’s permanent operation expressing objections to the five-year extension suggested.
The council also discussed the “Digital Agenda for Europe”, one of the main initiatives within the framework of “Europe 2020” developmental strategy.
