Police, port authorities and the municipality have been carrying out an operation since Thursday morning to remove illegal immigrants' huts in the region of Igoumenitsa, north western Greece.
More than 250 huts and improvised tents set up in the woods next to the port, that was in danger twice of burning from fires lit by illegal imigrants to cook, have already been removed. The operation is under way to remove all of the remaining huts and improvised tents near the port.

Meanwhile, Thesprotia police have been carrying out an extensive operation since morning, with the participation of the port authority-Greek coast guard, and 98 illegal immigrants have been arrested so far.
