The ministry of education general secretariat for research and technology will finance 29 project proposals focusing on scientific research and technological cooperation between Greece and Turkey within the framework of the “Bilateral, multilateral and regional cooperation” programme, it was announced on Friday. The projects, with a total budget of 420,000 euros, were selected among 119 presentations tabled within the context of Greece-Turkey 2011 Scientific Cooperation and concern the regions of eastern Macedonia-Thrace, Thessaly, Epirus, northern Aegean, Crete, Ionian Islands, Peloponnese, western Greece and central Macedonia.
The approved projects focus on scientific research in the sectors of environment, fisheries and fish farming, biotechnology, information and telecommunications technology and renewable energy sources (RES).
