The head of the Democratic Alliance party, independent MP Dora Bakoyannis, on Friday proposed the creation of a 'emergency and national unity' government and said that this was the only solution for exiting the crisis.
"After the recent experiences that they had in Brussels, [Prime Minister George Papandreou] and [main opposition New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras] must have got the message that there is one solution, even today," she said.
Bakoyannis said that such a government was the only way that Greece could win back its "lost credibility" and the "country saved from disaster".
On Friday morning, Bakoyannis briefed Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos on an alternative Medium Term Fiscal Strategy plan drafted by her party.
