Opposition Popular Orthodox Rally (LA.O.S) President George Karatzaferis on Tuesday suggested that “Greece should seek to obtain a Marshall Plan-type economic aid programme thus avoiding bloodsucking interest rates”.
Speaking in a private television channel in Athens, he stressed that Europe fears a likely economic collapse of the country, adding that “this means that Greece can opt for a different kind of negotiation”.
Karatzaferis said that the present government should be replaced by a government of national unity and referring to the medium-term programme he repeated his party’s proposal for a roll-call vote.
The LA.O.S president also lashed out at trade unions referring to the strike called by the Public Power Corp. (PPC SA) GENOP workers’ union.
