Greek Prime Minister and President of the Socialist International (SI) George Papandreou will host a working dinner on Thursday for the members of the SI presidium, who are arriving in Athens to attend the two-day SI Council that opens on Friday.
The Council will be attended by 300 representatives of SI member parties from all over the world.
The presidium, during the working dinner, will discuss the problems created by the economic crisis at global level and also in Greece, as well as the adoption of steps that can serve as a defence mechanism for countries against speculative attacks.
Papandreou will inaugurate the SI Council meeting on Friday morning.
