Two men, aged 35 and 37, were gunned down outside a nightclub in the Gazi district of Athens at dawn on Friday by an unidentified man.
According to information available so far, the nightclub's car park man and an employee of a nearby store, 35 and 37 respectively, were sitting and talking outside the closed nightclub, when an unidentified man approached them and shot at them at least 6-7 times with a 9mm pistol, injuring them fatally.
Eyewitnesses told police that the perpetrator, who was wearing a hat, approached the two victims, opened fire on them and fled.
One of the two victims died on the spot, while the second victim died in the ambulance as he was being rushed to hospital.
Attica security police are investigating the incident to locate the killer and the motive behind the double murder.
