The trial of businessman Makis Psomiadis – a key suspect in a soccer match-fixing scandal – with regard to charges that he embezzled 4 million euros from AEK when he was in charge of the Athens soccer team has been postponed until February next year.

The case was put off due to a strike by lawyers. However, this delay could give authorities time to sort out a possible legal obstacle to Psomiadis’s prosecution, as it is not clear if the terms of his extradition from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia allow him to be tried for anything other than match fixing.
