A group called the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE) as well as members of the Communist Party-affiliated union PAME said on Wednesday that they are planning to stage rallies outside the American Embassy in Athens to protest the planned NATO military intervention in Syria.

Representatives of the two groups were on Wednesday prevented from delivering a letter of protest to the embassy that was addressed to US President Barack Obama.
