The three-year term of the last nine-member council expired in November but the Education Ministry, which officially oversees the 100-year-old organization, has so far failed to extend its term or appoint a new council.
“As a country we wish to play a role, but we usually don’t move beyond words,” history professor and former chairman of the GSA council Nikolaos Karapidakis told Kathimerini.
GSA, which this year celebrates its centenary, is scheduled to host a workshop of the European Board of National Archivists (EBNA) and the European Archives Group (EAG) in early June.
