Police in Nikaia have announced the arrest of a foreign couple that were attempting to sell their five-day-old baby boy.
The 20-year-old Bulgarian woman and her 37-year-old Pakistani partner were arrested on Thursday and led before a public prosecutor on Friday to face charges on violating laws on the adoption of minors. The arrest was made based on a tip-off that the couple were seeking a buyer for a baby born on July 10, by undercover police posing as prospective buyers. The pair were arrested at the moment that they accepted the sum of 15,000 euro from the undercover police in exchange for the baby.
