Two Albanian nationals, aged 24 and 28, and a 36-year-old local man were arrested by police on Wednesday afternoon in the Nikea and Gerakas districts, respectively, accused of circulating counterfeit 50-euro banknotes.
A later search revelead drugs and weapons in the 36-year-old's possession.
The two Albanians were arrested while trying to sell counterfeit banknotes worth 5,000 euros for 3,000 euros to an undercover policeman.
An investigation revealed that they had obtained the counterfeit banknotes from the local man on the same morning.
