Stocks drops in low trading

Stocks dropped significantly at the Athens Stock Exchange on Thursday, affected by a distinctly negative mood in markets around the world. The general index fell below the 1,000-point level and stood at 976.62 -- a decrease of 3.38 percent.
Turnover was a low 46.188 million euros.
The Big Cap index lost 3.91 pct, the Mid Cap index ended 3.32 pct higher and the Small Cap index lost 2.49 pct.
The sectors of Trade (3.63 pct) and Insurance (2.38 pct) scored the strongest gains, while Telecoms (-7.26 pct) and Raw Materials (-6.43 pct) suffered the heaviest percentage losses of the day. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 109 to 22 with another 34 issues unchanged.

The stocks with the highest turnover were National Bank, Coca Cola 3E and Bank of Cyprus.
