Main opposition New Democracy party leader Antonis Samaras is, according to sources, determined step up pressure on the government regarding issues beyond the economy, ahead of a politically charged autumn season.
Within this framework, Samaras is preparing to bring back to the forefront various so-called "institutional issues", especially his party's proposal on the revision of the constitution and education reform.
The main opposition party's targets will also focus on issues such as the liberalisation of professions, hirings in the wider public sector privatisations.
Meanwhile, ND spokesman Yiannis Mihelakis on Thursday noted that ND was "vindicated" in terms of the criticism it aired vis-à-vis the issue of guarantees demanded by the Finnish government for its participation in the second bailout package.
Mihelakis made the comments after similar statements by the Austrian government.
