A massive search and rescue operation continued on Sunday for 15 people still missing after a migrant-smuggling boat capsized at dawn Saturday some 60 nautical miles west of Cephallonia island.
The migrant-smuggling boat capsized with 30 people aboard, including the migrant-runner, of which 11 have been rescued and 15 are still missing, while four bodies have also been recovered. The survivors are Pakistani nationals.
The accident occurred at the limit of Greek territorial waters.
A Turkish freighter sailing in the area picked up the 11 survivors, who were in bad shape, and the bodies of two of the missing migrants, which were transported to Cephalonia on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier, a military Super Puma helicopter brought another survivor, with a broken arm, to Cephallonia, while late at night 2 more bodies were recovered from the sea.
