Prime Minister George Papandreou held telephone conversations on Thursday with Israeli President Shimon Peres and Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann, according to an announcement by government spokesman Ilias Mosialos.
According to government sources, Papandreou discussed with the Austrian chancellor the implementation of the decision taken by the eurozone leaders on July 21, he expressed the government's determination to promote the reforms and the structural changes and to implement its commitments. They also discussed the tax on fiscal transactions.
The prime minister discussed with the Israeli President the resumption of peace talks on a solution to the Middle East issue, while extending his condolences to him over his brother's death.
