Infrastructures, Transport & Networks Minister Yiannis Ragoussis on Friday suspended Yiannis Spyrakos, the chairman and general manager of STASY S.A., a state-run company that manages rail-based transport infrastructure in the greater Athens area, including the ISAP electric rail line in Athens.
Ragoussis made the decision in response to protests by company employees and the fact that ISAP routes were disrupted on Friday, ostensibly due to a staff shortage.
According to employees' representatives, a STASY S.A. management decision to transfer 144 workers to Athens’ museums and archaeological sites to cover vacancies created serious problems in the operation of ISAP lines.
