Employees of public sector agencies that are to merge, or be abolished or are part of the labour reserve plan held a rally in Klafthmonos Square in central Athens on Wednesday, followed by a march to Parliament.
The demonstrators called for "a stop to the plans of the government and the troika now", while on arriving outside Parliament some of them burnt symbolically taxation bureau notices they received for the special contribution.
A delegation of the demonstrators was received by Parliament President Filippos Petsalnikos, to whom they delivered a protest resolution, while the employees' coordinating body will convene on Friday to decide on the continuation of mobilisations.
